Building on our original house object scans we used the interplay between digital and physcial to experiment with material qualities and their re-reading through manipulation. The potential energy of a mousetrap mechanism snapping closed was manipulated in digital space and transformed into a solid colum in our pavilion. By physcially modelling the digital traces of the supposedly solid column another potential energy is traced as the command 'extrude' and 'twist' are acted out through the physcial model. The fluid and soft crochet textile is translated through photogrammetry into a digital crochet: the mesh. We used a surface drape command, mimicking physcial textile qualities, to generate a mesh that was used as a crochet and weave pattern to rematerialize the mesh into physcial form using the logics of the original textile.
