Domestic Dreamscapes

A customized unique workflow is developed including collecting, curating, re-combination, re-appropriation, and visualization. Specific steps include the following: scaling; forming with aggregation and Boolean operations; the processing of 2D textures; texturing with various shading attributes; imaging of a stenographic construction. See image captions for details. By using customized algorithms to process the textures generated from the 3d scans and mapped back, we are able to create non-correlational relationships between the XYZ-based 3D forms to UVW-based 2d surfaces, between object and its representation, between an object, and the way how we see it via novel representations. During this workflow, data is recycled and upcycled between multiple analog and digital mediums. They are carried, translated, and loosed, from photos in the real world space to point clouds in the digital spaces; from polygonal meshes to volumetric VDB models; from brightness values of the bump map to the geometrical surface features of a 3d model relative to the viewing angle, etc.
